The first rehearsal of the Bentonville-Bella Vista Community Band, as it was originally called, was at Bentonville High School in 1985 with 2 flutes, 5 clarinets, 5 trumpets, 2 tubas, 2 trombones, and 1 percussionist. Members came from Siloam Springs, Rogers, Bella Vista & Bentonville and Jane, Missouri. Co-directors were Denny Kelliher and Mike Brown.
Fast forward to 2013--since 1989 rehearsals have been held at Community Church in Bella Vista, with free concert performances given at Blowing Springs Park throughout the summer months. The nucleus of the band is made up of retired persons, with members coming from many communities in NW Arkansas as well as Missouri.
New players are always welcome !
